3 Oaks is one of many developers that keep churning out new Hold and Win slots on a regular basis, and Sun of Egypt 3 is, as the title indicates, the third installment in this particular range. The most notable thing that varies between the 3 installments is the jackpots and max win potential, which keeps increasing each time. It’s going to be hard to top at some point if Booongo keeps this ancient Egypt series going, and 10,000x is admittedly a decent potential.
You get the same bonus round as always in the Sun of Egypt series, where the low-paying royal symbols are removed. This feature is more of a sideshow though, as the big attraction will always be the Hold & Win feature. It comes with a mystery symbol this time, as well as the possibility to upgrade to a Super version, and you still need to fill the grid to win the Royal Jackpot.

We’re counting 27 installments in Booongo’s Hold and Win series at this time, and only 15 Dragon Pearls comes with a higher potential than Sun of Egypt 3. You could call this the saving grace of this installment, as there is very little here we haven’t seen plenty of times before (it’s the third installment after all). The visual presentation is nothing special either, and you get a generic ancient Egypt soundtrack to boot.
The free spins round comes with no low-value symbols, but the most you can win from a single spin is still only 300x your stake. You’ll most likely need the Hold and Win feature to truly make a dent, but very little damage can be done via the regular cash symbols. The feature did seem to trigger quite frequently though, but without one of the top-tier jackpots you’re looking at a decent top-up win at best.
